WritingNews.org was officially made public on June 1st, 2006.

Our main goal is to provide daily news updates for writers on all the topics they find interesting. We’ll report on writing, authors, contests, events, awards, markets, books, poetry, various genres, related websites, and anything else that seems relevant.

For the most part, we do this by finding other interesting articles published around the net; however, that doesn’t stop us from compiling an occasional article of our own.

Though this is primarily a news site, it was built on a blogging system and it may have some similarities to a blog. In other words, it’s okay for editors to have an opinion from time to time. They don’t have to be mindless article-summarizing-and-linking machines.

Current Staff

Mark handles the technical aspects of the WritingNews.org as well posting news. He runs the online writing community Inkify and is currently working on completing several novels. He lives in Vancouver, Canada.

Catherine is an Israeli high-school student and a self-confessed internet addict. When not flipping through news feeds, she can usually be found reading a book in a vain attempt to get through her reading list. She is a moderator at Inkify.com.
